Before your appointment you are assigned a dedicated professional groomer, who completes the service on a 1 to 1 basis. The salon is never overcrowded which promotes wellbeing for even the most nervous dog. Hoping to achieve full customer satisfaction.

Every dog, is treated as in individual and the professional groomer, will work lovingly, alongside them. In order to reach their full grooming potential, tailoring the approach and quality product/equipment use, to suit their, individual needs.

Cuts Explained

Every dog breed has ‘breed standard cuts’ and then what we call ‘pet trims’. Which are basically adaptions of the breed standard cut. Here at Tidy Dog, all desires are catered for.

However, before settling on any style, we like to discuss your dogs lifestyle, individual needs and your ability to maintain the coat between visits to the groomers. This is because your pet’s welfare is always our priority and what may suit a pillow sitter would not suit a farm dog.

I’ve come to learn that everyone has a different idea of what ‘short is’ Here at Tidy Dog – Dog Grooming & Spa Ltd. My team work closely with owners to ensure 100% clarity on what is being requested. Shortly a guide will become available showing different achievable styles for each part of the body. My hope is that it may make life a little easier for customers when trying to explain what groom they wish to achieve on their beloved pet. I will let you know when this becomes available. In addition, the salon, is always happy to receive photos that you have from previous grooms/online.

After every groom, time is factored in to discuss the finished groom, receive your feedback and then any expectations or changes you would like for future grooms.

The Grooming Routine

All dogs need grooming on a regular basis for optimum health and to keep them feeling and looking good. How often will depend on the dogs coat type, lifestyle and coat condition. During the first consultation, your dedicated professional groomer will spend time evaluating your dog’s coat, behaviour and lifestyle in order to tailor a personal package and grooming routine.

Here is a rough guide to give you an idea

Smooth/Short Coat – (Dalmation, Pug,Lab)

Full Groom – 8- 10 weeks

Bath / Blowdry – 4 weeks

Silky/Long/Wool Coat (Poodle, Cocker Spaniel, Cockapoo)

Full Groom – 4 – 6 weeks

Bath/blowdry – 3 weeks

Wire/ Double Coat (Bernese Mountain Dog, Westie, Retriever)

Full Groom – 6 – 8 weeks

Bath/Blowdry – 4 – 6 weeks

Time Taken

Tidy Dog Grooming does not keep your pet any longer than the time taken to carry out the packages. The length of time taken, will depend on the coat type, coat condition and pet behaviour. After an initial consultation, will be able to accurately allocate your grooming sessions going forwards
