What to Expect
Tidy Dog – Dog grooming & Spa Ltd. Located on the Withybush Trading Estate, at Haverfordwest. Provides a quality, full-service pet spa experience. The salon is set up to cater for three dog households, at any one time. Without any households being directly mixed together. This ensures the full safety of all pets during their stay.
The company believes every pet is to be treated as an individual and also to be treated as a priority during their stay at the salon. For this reason, the salon operates on a 1-1 basis and does not hold dogs in crates. This helps the dogs build confidence, trust and relationships with their professional groomer over time. The outcome being a happy, tidy dog, upon each collection. The salon currently has three groomers who operate and try and keep the same dog upon every groom. This routine helps any pet to settle into their grooming routine. Even those with nervous or timid behaviour.
Time is always taken with each client, upon the first consultation. This way, we can accurately assess your pet’s coat condition, behaviour, lifestyle and any other needs, fairly accurately. We then discuss in detail with you, the ability to maintain the coat between grooms and what you would like to achieve style wise. Following this we come up with the right package for your dog. Each containing tailored products and appropriate grooming routine schedules. Offering, many different options for appointments times. To suit all life schedules.
Every time at Tidy Dog is indulgent. Rest assured that all products and Spa treatments, are high quality, smell gorgeous, help enrich the coat and help you maintain between grooms. Bathe and pamper, your pet in luxury and maybe as an extra treat add a facial or mud bath.
Rest assured that your pet is in safe, kind, experienced and professional hands. Any professional dog groomers here, have studied and passed the level 3 IPET qualification and gained ample hands before grooming your dogs.

Our Standards
We have always had an open door policy, and have always groomed using minimal restraint and positive encouragement for behaviour. If you wish you can watch your dog been groomed or sit and relax with a cuppa, whilst we do the hard work.
Through our one on one working we aim to provide a less stressful environment, and an enjoyable experience for your best friend. This is why we operate strictly by appointment only.
We use only naturally or organically based shampoos and conditioners as standard. These may not be the cheapest, but as we wouldn’t use anything less for our dogs, why would we for yours?

RCVS and BDGA guidelines
ANAL GLANDS please note we do not express these, and never have done. This complies with current advice from both RCVS and The BDGA."The British Dog Groomers’ Association recently received the following advice from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons regarding anal glands and ear cleaning:
Ear cleaning: Groomers may carry out ear cleaning of the external meatus as part of general grooming provided it does not include entry to the ear cavity. Where minor hair/debris removal is involved in a non-infected ear, this would not usually be considered an act of veterinary surgery, but where infection is present, or there is any possibility of a ruptured ear drum, this should be dealt with as a veterinary matter.
Anal glands: The veterinary advice we received is that external expression of anal glands is more complicated, because deciding if there is any infection or impaction involves a diagnosis, which is the practice of veterinary surgery. If the gland is not affected it is questionable if it requires expression."
We have on hand pesticidal shampoos to deal with fleas, but we still advise you treat your dog in accordance with flea treatment guidelines. We do not make an extra charge for this. However, if a dog is presented with a heavy flea infestation we reserve the right to refuse to groom. This will incur a charge.
